New England Tire Salvage

Guarantee Details
I guarantee my tires to be free of structural defects at the time of installation. All tires are pressure tested at 35 psi after a thorough visual inspection. Structural defects consist of ply separations and bubbles, excessive dryness, excessive cupping, or uneven wear patterns such as badly worn edges. Knife cuts, slashes through the sidewall, or ice pick holes are not structural defects, they are vandalism. I do not warranty vandalism. Defective tires will be replaced free of charge. I reserve the right to replace a tire, no refunds unless I do not have the proper replacement. I do not warranty tires past installation.

Be careful who installs your tires, a lot of tire shops resent people coming in with tires they bought from somebody else. When they stand there and say "gee, dude, like all you tires have these big slashes in them," you've been had.  I test every tire personally at 35 psi twice, and they do not leave here with knife cuts. The inflation machine finds even the tiniest pinholes, so small they cannot be seen.

Tires should be installed within 5 days of delivery and notification of all claims made in that time frame.  Unproven or late claims will not be honored. In the event there is a  structural defect in one of my tires,  I will send a replacement tire.  Certain extreme performance tires are sold as is with no guarantee due to the type of use they receive. This includes tires rated W, Y, or Z.

Tread depth will be as advertised by my measurement in the center or main tread grooves.  Due to their construction technique, which is problematic, do not expect consistent  tread depth on Michelin tires. Despite their wonderful reputation, Michelin apparently hasn't learned how to build a tire with consistent tread depth throughout the tread grooves. A difference of as much as 2/32" can be found within the same tread groove, even on brand new Michelins.

DO NOT have my tires installed by Walmart, Pep Boys, or Discount Tire! I will not warranty tires installed by them. There is a pronounced problem with tires mysteriously having cuts and other severe damage when brought to these places. This is intentional vandalism designed to induce the customer to buy new tires from them. If this happens to you, call the police.

I do not sell outside the continental U.S. I will not guarantee  any tire removed from the U.S.

Tread depth claims are basically  unprovable  and are therefore  ignored. If you intend to measure every groove of every tire in hopes of filing some sort of claim, buy from somebody else or better yet, buy new tires. I will not squabble over a 32nd of an inch of tread on a used tire. I measure fairly and do not exaggerate the numbers.

If you do measure the tires for your own enjoyment, use a calibrated  tire gauge and measure in the center grooves, or in the case of certain tires with water dispersion grooves like the Goodyear Eagle F1, measure  the main outer grooves. Don't measure the edges and expect to see the same depth as in the middle, they aren't built that way. Don't measure from a wear bar like Firestone does.

Return  policy. Tires may be returned if you  bought the wrong item.  If you made a mistake and bought the wrong tires, you may  exchange them for the proper tires. Customer pays all shipping charges associated with exchanges. Otherwise, all sales are final, there are NO exceptions.
